How To Lose Friends And Alienate People

Yuhuu.. yup yup.. still breathin, as strong as a bull, but losing strength to write – just that for the silent. Heheh.

Just got back from a full packed 3 days balik kampung holiday, with Keklin, My Lucky One and Mr. Aidil (Keklin’s Lucky One, who just got back from Bahrain). Started with some bumpy adventurous winding route of Kuala Kangsar – Kati – Gerik – Baling to let the Bahrain man got the golden paddy-field scenery captured onto his D80. Then spent the whole day of Monday circling the Island – visited the Rumah P Ramlee, Butterfly Farm, Uncle 82’s Durian Stall nearby, Batu Ferringhi beach and night market, and also the Penang Hill.. err.. cable car station. Heheh. And on the way back (just now), did drop by the Cameron Highlands, and got ourselves some strawberries and tit-bits.

Hmm.. all in all, it really does sound like a holiday, ey? Hahah, the main course is yet on the table, people. What forces me to write on this very nite is not really the balik kampung trip, but this movie. See the title of the entry? That’s just what the movie titled. It’s just one of those 11 DVDs I bought at the Ferringhi night-market (a must for almost everyone I know everytime we go down to Penang; illegal for sure, but why care if you can get yourself mere a dozen good movies for just at a price of none-more than RM50 huh? Well, I AM a movie loving dude, and do go to cinems like several times a week. But still there are good movies not being brought nor shown in our local cinemas ain’t it? And guess whereelse can we find them? Don’t mind aswering – retorical question you foo! Durhh…), which I’ve just finished watching.

It’s about a guy named Sydney Young, a rebelling adventurous author to a laying low similar minded small magazine with a master degree in philosophy, got offered for a post at the SHARPS magazine in the Big Apple. Yup, he might be so off-the-line talkin bout Con Air and Troy with those people from the upper tiers of food chain in Hollywood, but he really IS an honest dude, isn’t he? He asks whenever he needs to, speaks whatever jumps off his throat and does whatever his adrenaline urges him to – which I don’t see any wrong lies within.

He is like a new passenger in a newly arrived train. He’s looking out of the window so eagerly and easily got excited by everything he passes through – so contrary with all other passenger, who’d just kill the time looking at pictures in yesterday’s newspapers, reading the same novels for the fifth great time or just fill up the air with some lil snores and a bit of dripping. Well, sometimes some trains are just in need of those kind of on-hoppers, orelse the trip will just be so empty and boring. All the sceneries, the fresh airs and every tiny bit that you can learn from will be just meaningless.

Sydney Young is my man. (Well, at least for now). I need to become a Sydney Young, in way to live on, and keep on seeing. And learning. Orelse I’ll just be a boring ticket inspector – who had been to all places but learned nothing than asking for tickets in a low pitched tone and a face of zero impression – differs not from a serial killer.

Don’t give up on us, baby
don’t make our love seem light
the future isn’t just one night
it’s written in the moonlight
and painted on the stars
we can’t change ours..

Don’t give up on us, baby
we’re still worth one more try
I know we put a last one by
just for a rainy evening
when maybe stars are few
don’t give up on us, I know
we can still come through..

I really lost my head last night
you’ve got a right to start believing
there’s still a little love left, even so..

Don’t give up on us, baby
Lord knows we’ve come this far
can’t we stay the way we are?
the angel and the dreamer
who sometimes play a fool
don’t give up on us, I know
we can still come through..

I really lost my head last night
you’ve got a right to stop believing
there’s still a little love left, even so..

Just for a rainy evening
when maybe stars are few
don’t give up on us, I know
we can still come through…
